Some very good 2nd round games if teams that are supposed to win actually win:

Owensboro vs. Greenwood

Bowling Green vs. South Warren

Scott Co. vs. Highlands

Frederick Douglass vs. Covington Catholic

Round 3:

Owensboro at Fairdale

South Oldham at Bowling Green

Highlands at Frederick Douglass

Woodford at Southwestern

If that happens I would expect the semis to be:

Owensboro at Frederick Douglass

Southwestern at Bowling Green

 

Chances are there will be an upset or 2.  South Warren, Woodford, Covcath, Highlands maybe.

 

Frederick Douglass’ path might include CovCath, Highlands, Owensboro then BG.  Tough sledding.

If there’s an adjustment to the playoffs with the rating system in the third round.  #1Frederick Douglass would probably host #8Fairdale. #2 BG host #7SO…. Unless  I have no idea how that works?

The third round is still east/west divided. Districts 1-4 will be matched with top 4 RPI among the surviving teams from those districts, and then 5-8 will comprise the other matchups. Only once semifinals are reached will it be matching both sides.

The current RPI is only good through the 2nd round of the playoffs then it is reset then district 1-4 and 5-8 highest RPi would play the lowest remaining RPI in those disticts and so on. Then I believe for the semis is set where if they win out the top 2 RPI teams could not meet until the finals.
