Franklin is trying to right the ship after a 1-4 start and a tough loss to Woodford Co.  They were without lead back Moorman and shot caller Hurst but still managed to play stride for stride with Claudio at the helm.  Their backfield is undeniably deep and talented but can they add to what they showed last week and grab a district win at home?

Shelby is going into district play 3-2, above .500 for the first time in a few years.  Last year they went into this game 1-4 with some big time losses.  It started close until they started making some very costly turnovers and moral dropped.  They will still be without leading receiver White but they have tons of depth at the WR position this year.  Does Shelby have what it takes this year to be a district contender under new management?

How long is Moorman and Hurst out for the Flyers? Brutal blows.

Huge blows for sure.  Not positive on the severity of either of the players.

I think Flyers look more explosive with Claudio at QB. 

Doesn’t matter who plays, this one won’t be close.

Agreed.  He adds a different dynamic that will make their offense very hard to defend.

Regardless of who suits up, FC should win this one handily. When you have high expectations but you're 1-4 with three straight losses, just getting a W takes a little weight off. The Flyers should feel a little lighter after this week.

I believe Flyers win out. Forget the non district games they are all scrimmages. District Games matter. 

Franklin I think is an angry football team right now, want to start off district play with a Statement win.

Though I’m intrigued to see how the new Shelby staff & team plays against them in this game

Why schedule them if they don't matter? That's usually a reply when you are losing games. You could take it one step further and say district games don't matter either since everyone makes the playoffs.

What I mean those pre-district games prepare you. FCHS built a schedule to prep them for a long run.

Looking at this district, Central plays one of the toughest non-district schedules with games against St. X and Manual.  They are using those to prepare them for the run into district and playoffs because they know they will make it to the 1st round every year. Their head coach doesn't put much emphasis on those games, same as FCHS I would assume.

FC better come to play, they got a lot of things they are overcoming.. but at the end of the day you have to play to win! I know many of the Flyer coaches and kids.. those games MATTER!!! But they also believe in taking accountability for getting beat and working towards the next contest. This team gets its legs under it they will play hard and physical.. IMO they need a little bone thrown their way.. FC and Central very similar this year.. and most years.. I think you see the two battle it out for the one seed and make it pretty far in the west.
