Which Highlands team is going to show up Friday night in Fort Thomas. The Highlands team that went 3-0 and beat Bowling Green or the Highlands team that lost four straight games?  As @Colonels_Wear_Bluepointed out in the Prediction/Update thread "This week is THE week of the program for both programs."  Does this mean that we will get Highlands best effort again (e.g. Bowling Green) and the "Good Birds" will show up or will this game be another Highlands loss where we see lackluster tackling, inconsistent offense, and frankly a program that continues on its downward 2021 spiral?

How about it Highlands fans, which team will show up Friday night?

Tough to say... Both Dixie and CovCath have had their bye weeks heading into the Highlands game.  Giving the Colonels and Coach Eviston an extra week to heal, rest up, and prepare could be dangerous for Highlands.  That being said, Highlands does have some athletes that can help the Birds compete with CovCath.  Highlands will need to go +2 in turnovers, make something "special" happen on special teams, and make the soph QB beat them.

And, Highlands will need to strike early...

Are these really two different teams, or were the results a product of the opponents?

I think a little of both but probably more a result of the quality of the opponents.

A little of both.  Injuries have hurt along with eligibility.  Running game is pretty much non-existent though the guys that have given it a go do their best.  Offensive line play not bad with exception of one position that if change made would result in more success in my opinion.  Receivers are solid and QB is often best athlete on the field.

Defensively the line play has been pretty solid, but need to abandon 3 man front imo.  Linebacker play is weak spot in my opinion. Need to play faster and tackle better in space. Defensive back play kind of like linebacker in the need to tackle better in space.

Special teams are a disaster.  Return games are as creative as junior league football.  For kickoff, if unable to consistently put ball in end zone think about directional kicking and putting 10 guys out there that will sprint down and make tackles.  Much better than squib kicks imo.  Punt game is okay as you work with what you have.

My humble opinion based upon why I have seen to date.

I agree on a lot of this but differ in some points.  QB is critical and been inconsistent, in fact I see a change next year.  Oline play is dead on and is apparent to me.  Special teams specifically return has been a nightmare.  I think Dline play has been good.  LB play is hit or miss.   You have had some fantastic games, the question is finished tackling.  Many have made great plays; but missed tackles have led to large gains.

Let’s be frank they have been in every game but Ryle with opportunities to win.  The Conner game was a huge disappointment.   Some have not stepped up!!!  It is what it is.
