No 50 point win this time?

Not tonight.  Too many mistakes such as dropped passes, untimely penalties, etc.  Defense stepped up & played well.  Playing without their starting RB hurt; no doubt, but the boys have to learn to play next man up.  Good teams do that.  Losing teams make excuses.

BE is pretty good this year. Does anybody think they can be playing in late November?  What round would they have to potentially play Trinty, Male or Saint X?

Not this year.  Male is in their district & BE will see them in the 2nd round.  Next year however.....

They have scored 76, 56 and 62 points on people. Creek appears to be a lower tier 6A team, and I am surprised they didn't running clock the Tigers, is all.

The game they scored 76 they gave up 39. That is barely a running clock margin so I wouldn't call that running up the score despite the high total. Bullitt East scored 46 on Graves County in their only loss. The 20 pints here was their lowest point total of the season. Credit Fern Creek defense for keeping the point total low.

I'm not a fan of taking anything away from opposing teams.....Fern Creek had some timely stops when they needed it and limited the offensive possessions for BE in the 2nd half by playing ball control offense.  BE didn't get the ball in the 2nd half until 3 minutes to go in the 3rd so credit there.  However, the 20 pt. total was more indicative of the multiple BE mistakes that were unforced instead of the Fern Creek defense.  The offense didn't have any turnovers, which is good, but they dropped at least 5 easy balls, two of which would have been big plays if not potential TDs & had some very untimely penalties that put them way behind the sticks.  You can't do that and beat the good teams.

Fern Creek defensive front is very good.  Better than any team BE has played so far.  Top 5 in the state in sack count.  Travis Egan on the run all night.  Good game for BE oline to learn from.  Ball control by Fern Creek also kept BE off the field as a couple of people have already commented on.

I love the old saying that you either win or you learn.  Well sometimes you can do both.  This was a good win for BE.

Outside of Male, the BE offensive line plays the best defensive front they’ll see all year, every day in practice.  Eventually, those 3 boys will start to get credit where it’s due.

Gotcha. So some points were possibly left on the field. That's all I was saying. But definitely,  credit Fern Creek as well.
