Holmes 66 Siegell, TN. 42

Nice to see Holmes bounce back from a loss and take care of business.

Anyone know anything about Siegell?

Austin Hill had 30 . I think he had 21 in the 2nd half.

I know Tyler Cutter who attended Ockerman Middle (flows into Boone Co.) when he was an 8th grader(now a jr. at siegell) is there best player.

Siegel is a fairly new (less than a decade old) school in Murfreesboro, 3A in basketball and 5A in football. The basketball team was 61-12 the last two seasons and reached the state semifinals in 2005 and the quarterfinals last season.

They are not quite as strong this year, as evidenced by the 7-6 record. They have a 12-point loss to crosstown rival Riverdale, which played in the Marshall County Hoopfest and would probably be a top-20 (perhaps top-15) team in Kentucky.

So this was a legit win for Holmes against an out of state team. If they played in the state semis and quarters back to back years, they must not be too shabby.

Holmes will be there in March. Coach Henley does a great job and they have some great talent.

i'm interested in seeing how Holmes does once Jefferson comes back. If they are doing well now, without him, imagine how much better they're going to be when he comes back.

February is getting closer folks :sssh:

True, and not to stir the pot, but remember it is possible that another star player returning could potentially disrupt this newfound chemistry.

I doubt very seriously that will happen. Duran is pass first, score second. He will be welcomed with open arms. I've spoke to the players and all are very excited about getting him back in the next 3 weeks.

I hope Duran does well when he comes back, but if he is cleared to play in three weeks, he will not be ready to play basketball for another 2-3 weeks more because of conditioning. I look for him to be ready more towards the district and regional tournaments, not the beginning of February.

Duran will be back at the latest, mid Feb, and thats if everything doesnt go smoothly. He is ahead of schedule so he should be back by mid Jan. (Right around the Covcath game)
