Here's another old-time Rebel for you. CLR, Boone County High School, class of 1964.

Also, I love that they put a picture of his "lucky socks" in his yearbook. Later in life Coach Ray had a lucky Bears hat that was reserved to only be worn at practice once the football playoff season had started.

Beechwood football coaching legend Mike Yeagle was also a baseballer. He let the 1979 Beechwood Tigers in RBI's as a senior, and was also named team MVP.

One more guy known who was probably known more for his football coaching career later in life...Dale Mueller was an all-state catcher for the 'Birds, class of 1973.

Also, let's talk about how AWESOME that 1970's sleeve logo is for the Dirty Birds. The classic "Angry Bird" face on a baseball wearing a ballcap...absolutely classic! What's it gonna take to bring THAT back?!?

Very similar jersey design to the Atlanta Braves from that time period. Think Hank Aaron breaking the home run record. Numbers exactly the same.

That Bears hat....you knew the main meant business when he came out to the field wearing that hat. Brings back some great memories. 
 

Speaking of sleeve logos CWB, check out "The Colonel" on Cov Cath Coach George Schneider's pinstripes in 1973. Classic.

The patch was a negative color image - the field in navy blue, the features outlined in white.

Faces in the crowd, Park Hills, 1974 - New Cath vs. Cov Cath.

1. A future Colonel inspects the lumber with a sense of unease. The voice of Baseball Future whispers, "It's the aluminum son; it'll ruin the game."

2. Fun for the whole family. Nobody seems to mind the, *ahem*, rustic accomodations. I can still smell the burgers coming off of that grill. Pure bliss.

No dugouts. Not enough pine to seat an entire team between innings either.

Before the 1977-78 renovation and expansion, the field was small, oddly shaped, and barely fenced. Nobody cared. Very, very good ball was played on the "old field" for nearly a quarter of a century.

That's a variant of the colonel logo that showed up the football helmets for the 1969 season. The football team used the non-reverse image of that colonel with a big 'C' around it.
