russellrooter
Russell has strong 2nd half to up their record to 6-0. Led by 4 at half, went up by 20+ in the 2nd half. I didn't catch the exact stats but I'd guess VanHoose with 25 or so, Gill with 12, Blair and Robinson with close to 10 each, Turner 6. I caught a glimpse of what I thought Russell would look like this year in the 2nd half.
FBALL
Yeah, but it was just a glimpse. They need to sustain that.
Red Shift
I believe VanHoose had 30 points. It seemed like 25 of those came in the 2nd half. Russell scored 29 in the third quarter, more than doubling their score from the beginning of the half. Dodd seemed much more pleased with the Devils' effort after today's game, especially the defensive intensity. Even though it was a four point game after 2 quarters (28-24), Russell seemed in control for most of the first half, they just missed a few lay-ups on the runout and VanHoose was a little cold from outside. The more positive aspect of the game was the Russell foul situation. I don't believe Russell committed more than 8 fouls in the first half, and they had fewer than 7 in the second. Further, Russell looked decent from the line, particularly Scott Gill who went at least 4-6. I was more than pleased with the effort, especially because Russell was still in school today and had to play this game almost directly after the last class. FBALL
The first half Russell looked like they were asleep. No second effort to gaurd or go after a rebound. The third quarter was the type of effort that should be given the entire game. The fourth quarter it was back into cruise control. Letting a more than comfortable lead slip back to respectable. BogeyMan
VanHoose had 19 in 3rd Quarter alone. Those doubters as to his D-1 talent are starting to look stupid.

Milhouse
Good win for Russell & the 16th. I always get Warren East & Warren Central confused didn't one of them win the State Tournament a few years ago? Which is the more highly rated team this year? Looks like Russell is heading to a showdown against Boone County. I think this will define VanHoose's talent.

stripedshirt
Looks like Russell is heading to a showdown against Boone County. I think this will define VanHoose's talent. From what I saw of Boone County Vanhoose will appear to be "All World" against them. They were not very impressive.
