Just as at any other level or type of sport, others always think they can do a better job, but if those of you really were such great coaches than you would be coaching somewhere.

 

Some of us probably have experience in that field. When a coach puts his team on the floor they become a direct presentation of his talent and ability as well as the players. Sometimes a knowledgeable fan, especially some on here with much basketball experience can see where there are problems. When a coach has the same issues year after year and the opposition is able to take advantage of that, it does not take a genius to figure out and point out that there is a problem. We all make mistakes in our various professions, but the smart ones learn and fix the problem.

I kinda agree with you Bandit!! It's easy to sat back and watch someone and pick out their flaws. Even if their consistent it would be a lot harder to step in that persons shoes and do things right because most of us watching are just concentrating on one or two kids and were not thinking of the fact that the coachis having to deal(and try to keep satisfied) with fifteen parent's fifteen kid's, "old" alumni, the school board whose getting complaints from all of the above and last but not least hopefully for the coaches sake a "personal life". Personally I dont think I would want that job.

Anyone can look at the team from Elliott County an see that, those kids do exactly what they want on the court. They get absolutely no direction from their coach. But anyone who has been around basketball in the 16th region knows that this season is no different from any other season, for the Lions. There is no doubt about the level of talent on that team, imagine if they got even the least bit of coaching...

I will go on record as saying that I personally think that there are several people on this thread (not site - just this thread alone) that could step in and fix some of the same problems that have been observed at Elliott for quite some time. Its amazing that Elliott produces the level of talent that they have (with it being such a small county, etc) and a shame that there isn't more done with it. :fight:
