Voice of Reason
Wow. Draud with 35 of the Tigers' 55 points.
Red Tiger 17
Tigers were down33-23 at halftime. #11 Smithers for Walton had 19 at half and only 2 FT in 2nd half. Beechwood was all over him on D after halftime.
BigRob
lot closer than it should've been.

When the Bearcats are shooting well, they can knock off a lot of teams with better talent. (evidence: Walton-Verona 74, Lyon County 70) W-V also beat Gallatin - who beat Beechwood - by 21. Not surprised at all by this score. Honestly, I thought Walton had a 50-50 chance to win this one.
statman
Tigers were 1-15 from 3. Some teams aren't allowed to have an off day I guess?

To quote your scores, as an example, St Henry beat WV by a score of 73-29. Not even close and Beechwood did beat them earlier in the year. Agree they have some shooters, but Beechwood is a good team. They obviously didn't play their best but still pulled it out.
PaulBlart
Sounds like it was a good game. Both have shooters, but Beechwood is a tough team.

I don't disagree with you at all, BigRob. My point was simply to say that I expected a good game, and thought it was a toss-up contest, or maybe 60-40 Beechwood at most. I simply wasn't surprised at the margin at all. I've seen both teams. Although I did quote some scores, my real underlying point is that basketball is all about matchups. I didn't think this one dramatically favored either team.
5-oh
Beechwood looked physically tired, after 4 games in 5 days. I know WV had 3 games in 5 days, but they also had a 3 L run in that span. One team had a hot shooter and the other couldn’t buy one from outside. Draud was the difference. Smithers was non existent in the 2nd half, credit the Tigers D. He’s a nice player, scored almost at will in the first half.
