Could care less about UK recruiting but I follow Wiltfong and this came across my timeline so figured I'd share.

No clue. Safety is where they wanted him. They have a ton of CB depth right now but not much safety depth. 4* JQ Hardaway is a CB, not a safety...Hardaway, Ken Willis, and Kalen Carroll are who they recruited for CB. Bridges and Patrick Body JR were recruited to play the safety positions.

UC loses their two starting safeties so my guess is they wanted him to come in and compete to start right away. He wanted to be a CB instead. Definitely a kid I'm disappointed UC missed out on. Like I said, UK is getting a stud. Afari will have a great career in Lexington. 

Yesterday was a great day for Kentucky football. I would love to possibly see another CB and LB out of the transfer portal and maybe some depth at DL and RB if CRod leaves, but even if we don't fill those needs, I am very happy with how NSD went for the cats.
