If I think I can stand the heat I am going to try and make it out there...I have mixed feelings on Higgins making this his Tigers first 11 on 11 outing. They have a lot of talent, enough to make a fine football team, I am just not sure they believe they are good yet..

wwwwooowww!!!!! is all I can say about the facilities! and Fern Creek looked a lot better than I expected especially on defense...

Forgive me for being under a rock but did X get an entire new school. Take it easy on me guys just recently moved here from Florida.

Is there seating on the visitors side as well. I sure hope so, putting that much money into a place and not have seating for visitors and on their own side.

Is your "being under a rock" a Trinity pun? There is seating on the visitors' side for 1,000, which is as large or larger than most high school fields. We've even provided an appropriate atmosphere behind the visitors' bleachers...a real cemetery. :scared:

 

There were probably about 100 Fern Creek suporters at this scrimmage, so there was plenty of room left. We want to make our visitors comfortable, but our #1 concern is to accomodate our own supporters, without whom this beautiful facility could not have been built, nor can it be maintained. For our home games, St. X. almost always outnumbers the visitors by a 5 to 10-1 margin. On the St. X. side, season tickets for the 1,081 chairback seats are sold out, plus season tickets have also already been sold for 1,500 of the remaining 4,000 bleacher seats. We've chosen to apply our dollars where we get the most return on our investment.

Round, St. X has been located at its current location since 1962, although the school was around for about 100 years before that. The school has recently undergone a $28 million renovation of facilities and construction of new ones. When all is said and done, more or less, all of the athletic facilities, with the exception of the pool, will be brand new. Tennis courts, baseball field, track, football field, soccer, lacrosse, practice fields, locker rooms, the works. There is seating on the visitors' side, although not as much as most would like, but we won't even use what we have on that side but a couple of times a year. The school's athleticically will be, on the whole, the best in the state, if not the region and the academic facilities are also receiving currently being renovated. For those that haven't been to Tiger Tech within the past five years or so, it probably would seem like a brand new school!
