Miami (OH) 38 Ball State 31

MACACTION on a Wednesday night.  It was a really exciting second half.

It was the CovCath show, AJ Mayer came in to replace the injured starter and had a great game including two TD passes to Jack Coldiron.

The hit the Miami quarterback took looked really bad. Here's hoping he's okay. It did pave the way for AJ Mayer to come in and he looked really good, along with Coldiron. It's fun to see Kentucky kids making plays in high level college football.

Another CovCath grad, Cam Butler, plays on the Miami defensive line and is a solid contributor as well.

Go Redhawks!

I was impressed with Mayer's accuracy and arm strength, he threw some absolute frozen ropes.

He throws a pretty ball, that is for sure!

Sometimes that's all it takes, an injury to one guy and the next man up seizes the job for good. I do hope the best for Gabbert. I think for the school size that Miami is, they have quite a bit of QB talent.
