No question the lack of Beau Allen completely changes the team. They are still a 40/60 run-to-pass offense this year, though (last year they were almost 20/80). One thing I've noticed in multiple games is that Cov Cath's defense ends up on their heels when they aren't collapsing pockets on quarterbacks. The Colonel defensive backs lack a bit when it comes to speed, and there is frequently at least one open receiver on pass plays. The defense relies heavily on the line busting up the pocket and forcing the QB to scramble for yards or to hurry his pass into missing its mark. That was a major problem against Beechwood and Hergott, who works exceptionally well under pressure. It was also one of the big problems against Dixie. There were some instances of the Cov Cath defense being put back on its heels by Simon Kenton last week when the Pioneers were able to give Crone enough time to hit one of his open receivers for multiple plays, but the Cov Cath defensive line was able to come through enough to stop the threats.

One thing worth noting is that the Lex Cath offense has 5 of their top 7 receivers back from last year in Jackson Corbett, Blake Busson, Jack Monday, Dylan Bracken, and JD Woodall. Jack Gohmann was one of those 7 top receivers, but he has moved over to starting QB for the Knights this year as a junior.

Lex Cath looks like they have improved.

Jacob can't find an open receiver and scrambles before throwing an incompletion.

Lex Cath has a HUGE speed advantage on both sides when it comes to receivers and defensive backs.

Good game. Not great commentary. Color man asked at the beginning what the team nicknames were. They openly explained on the air (I guess someone asked) how to access the game on YouTube because someone couldn’t find it. And it is extremely clear that “coach” hasn’t looked at a roster or seen either team all season. Great video and production, subpar announcing.

The video is amazing and I enjoy listening to the announcers as "entertainers" but that is about where it ends.
