It says out of over abundance of caution so can’t be to many.

This is where the rapid test should be utilized. Test all your players and coaches and get instant results. Then you will know the size of the problem you're dealing with versus just guessing and being extremely cautious. A 14 day break seems to be too much based on all the evidence and knowledge we have about COVID.

Franklin County Head Coach Eddie James says due to positive COVID-19 cases within his team, the Flyers are shutting down football activities for the next two weeks.

Woodford County played them this past Friday night, look for the Yellow Jackets to do the same.

I agree. 

Hate to be that guy.. but with the two games being scheduled as District games... and Franklin's only open date being October 9th (When those two teams, Shelby County and North Oldham) are scheduled to play each other. There will not be an open date to re-play these games.

How does this game go down in terms of District standings? Will Franklin County be forced to forfeit those two District games since it was their football suspension that led to the cancellation? 

No forfeits this season. An unplayed district game goes down as a win and loss for both teams. In reality, I expect the October 30 and November 6 dates to become district replacement dates as the season progresses. 

Also one Woodford player has tested positive.

Could not agree more but that is not the guidelines the KHSAA is following right now. Current KHSAA guidelines, based on CDC guidelines, are that if you are positive and asymptomatic you need to remain quarantined for 10 days from 1st symptoms. If you been in contact with someone that is positive you have to remain quarantined for 14 days. Seems backwards but those are the guidelines. For schools that I have talked to testing is not an option. i.e. if you have been in contact with someone that tested positive, it does not matter if you tested negative. You are still required to quarantine for 14 days. This seems outdated given what we know and the advances we have had with testing. Since teams are practicing together it just takes 1 case to shut down the whole team for two weeks given the current guidelines.

What will start happening due to this is people will quit getting tested to avoid quarantine. It’s already happening at college level students. They are only mildly sick for a few days and once symptoms gone go back to normal and avoid 14 day quarantine.
