A new era under center begins at Lexington Catholic after star QB Beau Allen moved down the road to play for UK. Even with the change at QB the expectations do not change as a whole. Catholic will be starting their season off vs a Lexington Christian team that beat them in a 43-42 thriller last year and one that is coming off a victory over a highly ranked 3A DeSales team. Will Catholic be able to avenge last seasons defeat and will they be able to get through the Boyle County roadblock that has stopped them from winning a district title the last several years?

Too many questions attached to LexCath without Allen taking the snaps, and LCA was impressive in beating DeSales last week. The Eagles are known for their offensive proficiency, but the defense won the day against the Colts.

Xavier Brown should find more running room against a LexCath program that's frequently been defense optional over the years, which means a potentially huge game out of him. Also, it's a big plus for first year starter Drew Nieves that LCA already has a game under its belt, especially on the road at DeSales. The same can't be said about the Knights and their new quarterback.
