December 26, 200619 yr Author Right now its a "dead period" so that helps us. We have 14 verbals and just one is wavering which says alot about these kids. Also there are 15 Redshirts that could have played last year. Some just want to play for a school no matter who the coach is and that also is a big help. We are doing the right thing by waiting. I just hope we don't have a "John L" thing and can wait until after the Coach we are gettin game is over. I'm Hearing a name but will wait to be sure, but it is huge. I was also thinking tha this was the "dead [period" AL. Thanks for clearing that up. Imo is that Bama is waiting on the college bowls to be over (or maybe a coach in the college bowls is waiting to anounce;) :sssh: ) and the same thing for the NFL season to be over.
December 26, 200619 yr From Chris Landry...Coach Saban wants to stay at Miami, but if the new owners (Pa Pa John) want to make a change then he might look at Bama. But thats the only way we get Saban. He will not leave Miami for Bama on his own. I'll check back later I'm headed over there after I do some Prayers on this site.

Coach Saban has some crazy loyalty to the owner of the Dolphins. He won't own them much longer giving Coach Saban an out if he wants it. He will have to deal with the stigma of not getting it done at the pro level. That being said, I have heard that he is unhappy dealing with the crap at Miami. Who knows, but it aint over just yet.
December 27, 200619 yr Heard some things about how the Saban Family isn't crazy about South Florida. Jerry Seinfield once said about the area..."its the next stop you make before you reach Heaven". Now there isn't a lot to do in Tuscaloosa either. I still believe if Miami wants him to stay he will. There was silly talk about LSU wanting him back and his wife was in town. Their old house was bought by Shaq. People are crazy over there, but I'm going back in.
December 27, 200619 yr I am an Alabama graduate and have some very close friends close to the program. It is my understanding that without violating any NCAA rules, Alabama is going to make a run at a coach who will be playing in a bowl game this week sometime. Why not, endless pocketbook and of course 12 national titles. Any coach who is not quite to the level of the SEC yet would jump all over it. Why Rodriguez decided to stay is past me but I know that if you are a player of any caliber and you are being recruited by WV or Alabama, you will be singing Roll Tide!!!
December 27, 200619 yr Doc...Wecome to BGPs. I believe with the "family Ties" that CROD had at WVAU was the main reason he didn't come to Bama. Momma didn't want to leave her Momma and thats OK. I was pushing Greg Schiano of Rutgers and still would like to see it. I'm hearing someone's name on the board like I posted earlier. Again glad you are here, there are several Bama Fans on here with us.
December 27, 200619 yr Can you believe that signing day is barely a month away, and the Tide still has no coach...you know who this helps the most? AUBURN.

I am also a Bama football fan along with Ohio State, Ga. and U.K.. I agree with AL on coach Rod...........if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. I look for Bama to name a top level coach by next week sometime. I have believe that it may be a college coach that has his team in a bowl game this week and does not want to distract his team in their bowl game. With Bama's tradition they take a back seat to no one and I look for them to be just fine and name a top level coach. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ylsuper:
December 27, 200619 yr One of the Mobile writers speculated today that the Saban stuff, may very well be a smokescreen. They will be in Miami....one coach has the same agent as Saban....hmmmm
December 28, 200619 yr I've also just heard that Bama Higher ups are in Miami. Coach Jim Grobe might be high on our list, or maybe they heard something about the Fins owners. Who is left to talk to? The talk about a College coach who plays this week would fit Coach Schiano and they play after the Bama Game, but nowhere near Miami. RockPride...The WarTigers can only sign so many kids and right now there are a lot of kids waiting to see who we hire. Maybe a kid would want to help turn Bama around.
December 28, 200619 yr Author Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer. :thumb: :thumb: :ylsuper: Imo Grobe would be a great choice. I like Schiano as well but would be concerned with him taking the Penn. State job whenever Joe Pa retires.
December 28, 200619 yr Game time a hour away...Coach Saban still saying no. We need to move on to someone who wants to be at Bama.
December 30, 200619 yr Heard this morning that the Fins might not be sold and the owner wants to keep Saban. I'm trying to get thru to Chris Landry on FSR. He is a friend of Saban and has already said Saban was staying.
