Lee vs. Powell..... who will win?

Featured Replies

Tuesday Lee County will match up against Powell. With Lee being the defending 56th district champs and Powell with the same team as last year, who will come out on top?

Lee will win by at least 15

Lee should win. Powell has not been playing well this year but never underestimate the Pirates at home. Should be interesting in Stanton tuesday

Lee should win this game, probably by around 12. But I also thought they would beat Letcher Central, who I see being close to the same talent level as Powell. So one never knows until the final horn sounds.

Is Romans back yet for Powell? His presence could be a difference maker.

Professor, I am not sure if Romans will be back or not; but I have heard that he would like to play against Lee County. I hope he is able to play and wish him all the best.

In order to win, Lee has to rebound!!! Should be an exciting game. I'm loving all the close games this season, makes it so much fun.

I would say Romans will be back. He dressed and sat against OBI and is probably back practicing. Would'nt count Romans out of the roster for Tuesday. I'll take Powell in a close one. It seems that Powells lineup has changed each game, if Lively's lineup is clicking against Lee and bench play is productive i'll take Powell by about 10.

Powells lineup has changed. Its not the lineup that is important for powell, its their bench. Powell has a deep bench, and they are one of the key factors in powells style of play. And at OBI they did just that. A couple of guys off then bench were in double figures for the pirates.

If Romans plays in this game, it will be closer than what Lee County Faithful's think. Lee is a very good team, but so is Powell. I wouldnt want to miss this one. Good Luck to Both.

I am a Lee County fan but winning by 12 is probably a little much.....winning in Stanton is different than at home or on a neutral court. They are extremely tough at home and will show that on Tuesday. They had Lee beat until Kenny Brandenburg stole the inbounds and forced overtime, an overtime in which Lee won.

However, IMO Lee still wins in a close one: Lee 68

Powell 64

Lee by 10 to 12 points. Will be a different story by years end with a healthy Romans and some more time under Powell's belt. They are a bunch of seniors with not a great deal of varsity experience.

Maybe in districts but I just don't see Powell beating Lee in Beattyville, they are extremely tough at home.....

I don't see Powell beating Lee at all. I was simply saying that Powell will compete in a closer game as the year progresses and Romans gets healthy. Lee is to deep and athletic. However, with that being said, when it comes to district games reagrdless of where they are played anybody can be beat anywhere in the 56th this year.

Oh I was saying anything bad in that statement, I was just saying that Lee is way tougher at home than on the road. I think that Tuesday will be much different that later on in the season because of Romans having a little "Rust" on him. I think that when they play at Lee it will be close but that Lee will edge them out. But I do agree that anyone can beat anyone in the 56th, one of the most competive in the state.

Lee Co. will win this one. They have a very good team. I have not had a chance to seen Powell play yet. Lee wins.

Romans will be ready don't believe anything else except he will play. This game will depend on defense and rebounding. I saw Powell early in the year and they couldn't get the ball up the floor that could cause a problem if that hasn't changed. Lee is still limping a little with the injury bug and has not been rebounding well. So this game will be close, and since it is at Powell it makes it more interesting for the Bobcats to overcome. But

The King says Lee will prevail by 6
