What is the over/under for deaths in America due to COVID-19 in 2020?

Which brings systemic issues into the equation.

Exactly...Americans don't like being told what to do. We die for tons of reasons that could be easily resolved with good practices, but we a are nation that is Oppositional Defiant.

Of course most of those causes are not contagious in nature. I can't catch your DUI car wreck, and you can't catch my heart disease.

You are right on one account (heart disease), but wrong on the other (DUI car wreck). That absolutely can have consequences for an innocent bystander. In fact, I've found it interesting to see people who have emphatically endorsed the safe at home philosophy because of the possibility of infecting others...be 180 degrees when it comes to texting and driving, and say they'll continue to do it.
