How many days until they meet again?

South, one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the state of Kentucky, was down by 3 with 5 seconds left, drove the length of the court and attacked the basket for a layup. It missed, but begs the question of “why”?

Strange play. Only thing I can think of is that Johnson thought he might get a 2+1 opportunity, but the Oldham players in front of him simply moved out of the way and let him go to the rim uncontested.

Deaton Oak hit 7 threes for Oldham and finished with 37 points.

He was named tournament MVP.

Luke Morrison for South, who had already become South Oldham's all-time career scoring leader earlier this year, eclipsed the 2,000 point mark during the game.

Huggins may want to make Oak a two-sport athlete at West Virginia!

Didnt the Oak boy play varsity for Carroll County his 8th grade year?

I think so. His father is - or was, not sure which - an administrator in Carroll at the time. Before that, his father was boys' basketball coach at Trimble County. But the Oaks live in Oldham County.

Theoretically, he could have played on at Carroll due to his dad's employment, but his home district is Oldham County.

His father was a star at Oldham County in the 90s.

Both of Deaton Oak’s parents are in administration at Carroll County. Doug is assistant superintendent and Dana is principal of the middle school. They were both standout athletes in college. They live in Oldham County.
