Very happy for Cheek, that was pretty cool to see.

Technical called on Highlands.

Was this really a Technical? Or a case of Highlands dishing up some of CovCath's own medicine and the Refs wanting no part of it? I have been to several of these Matchups the last couple of years and this has been the common theme between these Two schools. Who's the bigger Bully! Call it what you want but it takes Two to tangle!

Like I said before that when and if these Two square up again at the Varsity level in the POSTSEASON and on a Neutral court with out of Region Officials, it will be a much different game. You won't convince me otherwise....

The play that led to the T call happens around the 2:29:35 mark in the video, for those interested.

I didn't see where it was an actual technical. Two players were locked up fighting for the ball, and best I could tell, there was an initial whistle and the two (Carson Schwalbach & Ayden Link) continued wresting for the ball for a very brief moment after until Ayden ended up pitched across the floor because it looks like Carson has him outweighed by a solid 40 pounds. It was right in front of the official at the baseline, yet it was the official out beyond the arc who came in and called for the T.

Honestly a very weak call, but did not impact the final outcome. I am with T-birds though in that CCH got a little dose of their own medicine last night, but that is how Joe Frederick teaches them to play.

That’s actually the Best assessment of the play for sure. But definitely didn’t deserve a T. I was sitting 20 feet away and no words were exchanged for sure. And if there was the Official near Half Court needs to have his hearing checked because he was closer to Crazies than the play itself. But you’re spot on!

I'm sure he stops in on practice here and there, but Coach Fredrick isn't coaching freshman basketball. Matt Stevens and Steve Sorrell are the coaches.

I know who the coaches are and the JV did the same thing. The varsity did it as well. It has Joe Frederick’s name all over it.

You’re right! The Ambassador of a program doesn’t need to Coach!

You're right. The varsity assistant coach at Cov Cath is running the show for the varsity, JV, and freshman teams. You know that better than me, clearly.

What's Joe's last name, again?

Doesn’t Sorrell sit on the Varsity Bench? I know Highlands Frosh Coach doesn’t but Teaches the same Philosophy to his players that the Varsity is taught.

Really????? He played at Greenhills, Notre Dame and worked at WLWT. Sorry not spelled correctly, much like people butcher my last name.

I stand by what I say.

Coach Sorrell will sit on the varsity bench at some games, and I've seen Coach Stevens do it as well. Fact is, Coach Fredrick is seldom directly involved on the freshman basketball level at all, though. And I know Joe is a really vocal person, and it's not entirely off-base calling him the ambassador of a Cov Cath basketball program. I certainly think he can come off that way, and goodness knows some of the players see him that way.

Cov Cath plays a physical brand of basketball, yes. I'm not denying that or saying anything otherwise, because they do. I just don't get the insistence on saying things like "CCH got a little dose of their own medicine" unless the implication is that the other basketball teams in NKY don't generally like to play a very physical game of basketball.
