My overall point just is that for someone who is not a Cov Cath insider, your "it has Joe Frederick’s name all over it" statement seems a little overstated or fudged when you're...well...not a Cov Cath insider.

You do realize Coach Franzen your Freshman coach use to be at Highlands right? I'm not saying that's the source but JOAT has more insider than you would like to Accept. Don't be that Naive! We get it, we have Rats running through Ft Thomas just like you do on Dixie Hwy south of Cincinnati!

Well sure, it's NKY. It doesn't take that much effort to learn a little bit of info about most anything. All I'm saying is...sure, Joe has some influence in there somewhere when it comes to freshman ball, and definitely some more direct influence on JV, but it's not like he's General MacArthur sitting back with his corn cob pipe and commanding the whole Pacific Fleet.

Coach Sorrell will sit on the varsity bench at some games, and I've seen Coach Stevens do it as well. Fact is, Coach Fredrick is seldom directly involved on the freshman basketball level at all, though. And I know Joe is a really vocal person, and it's not entirely off-base calling him the ambassador of a Cov Cath basketball program. I certainly think he can come off that way, and goodness knows some of the players see him that way.

 

Cov Cath plays a physical brand of basketball, yes. I'm not denying that or saying anything otherwise, because they do. I just don't get the insistence on saying things like "CCH got a little dose of their own medicine" unless the implication is that the other basketball teams in NKY don't generally like to play a very physical game of basketball.

Sorry I meant JV....He was the Frosh Coach at HHS. My mistake....

What's sad is that 60-70% of these Cov Cath freshman will never play basketball there again. And you could argue that the Sophomores on JV won't sniff the floor until they're seniors.
