True...I guess I am not sold on Ashland as a top 5 team yet, but BGP does so I stand corrected.

Why should a great team who’s had a great season not be rewarded? Is the tournament really about making sure a Cinderella team gets to continue their run? Maybe the NCAA should start doing random draws and giving the 16 seeds an easier path.

We constantly rant about participation trophies, and getting rewarded for hard work, and striving to be the best. But we throw that out the window when it comes to the sweet 16 because we’ve been doing it this way for a hundred years, because it’s cool when a Cinderella wins it every once in a blue moon.

We can agree to disagree but if you're a really good team the Cinderella team won't intimidate your great team.

This is high school- doesn't have to be like college.

And no I'm not for participation trophies and all for hard work.

Sign me up for the "potential" semi's of:

John Hardin

LexCath

Male

CovCath

Not to mention potential John Hardin v. Madisonville & Fern Creek v. CovCath Quarterfinals games to get to the semis.

Bracket looks set for a pretty good tournament.

Does this mean that the 1-10 and 9-12 match-ups will be the late games on Wednesday and Thursday?

Looks like they have assigned times to the games (per khsaa ) and these are indeed the late games each night.

Because if you don't evolve and adapt, you eventually fall apart. I've said it before. I can seed (and actually have several times) a wrestling tournament with 300 kids from 4 different states and 15 different weight classes (brackets),75% of which I've never heard of, pretty accurately. Yes I whiff on a few, but even those whiffs aren't bad. Yet people keep saying it's impossible to seed 16 high school basketball teams from the same state. The random draw is a lazy, unispired, poor way to set up what is supposed to be the "best tournament" in the country. That, along with not classifying the sport (and really all major sports) is long overdue. Keeping it is just bad business, and not fan or team friendly and is simply holding on to nostalgia. The way this system is set up cheapens the regular season, and doesn't reward those who've earned a prime seat at the table.

Rant over.

You are entitled to your opinion but to me seeding takes away what makes the Tourney so special.

I wish the 10th didn't play so late, but someone has to.
