9th Region Week 7 Review and Rankings: Conner is on a little Roll.

Featured Replies

Yeah but if you go that route you would almost have to put Highlands above St. Henry because Highlands beat Campbell County about a week after St. Henry lost to Campbell County... and some on here would support the idea of Highlands at #2, but then again Highlands did lose to Conner... who previously lost to St. Henry... who lost to Campbell....who (Campbell) then lost to Highlands by double digits after losing to Newport by 18 before Newport Lost to Lloyd... two days before Beechwood beat Lloyd which was 14 days after Lloyd lost to Cooper.... who only beat Ryle by 8.... who only beat Boone County by 4... after Boone County beat Henry County... but before Henry County beat Llody Memorial... who previously beat Holmes..... the same Holmes that lost to Newport Central Catholic in overtime but only beat Scott by 7.... the same Scott team that lost to Dixie Heights who has only one 9th Region victory on the year.

Whew, I need a Latte.

@PP1

we get a chance to see just what a cool dude you are. :thumb:

He'h, as if there was ever any doubt. Back in 1991, I had a switchblade comb, sunglasses like Elwood Blues, and hair like Lyle Lovett. I was quite the sight.

PP1 must be surprised as Holy Cross beats Campbell Co. Great game in Latonia tonight. Was impressed with the Camels in defeat. Nice win for the Indians.

Highlands is better than Beechwood. Vinson>Draud. Not even open for discussion.

You are also are Cov Cath fan... Maybe him hitting the game-winner on you is the reason you say this?

Not at all. I’m far more concerned with Highlands than Beechwood. Just stating a fact. I’m certainly not a Highlands fan, but no denying their ability to score the basketball efficiently. Gotta love turning a compliment to Highlands and a Highlands player against a CCH guy.

Kind of. Campbell started off 4-1 and have gone 4-9 in their last 13 games, 1-5 in their last six games. But that one victory was against St. Henry, who beat Beechwood, who beat Newport Central Catholic, who beat Holy cross, who beat.... I can't go through this again.

This is the second time I’m asking as it’s the second time I’ve seen you print it. What is the path you see DIXIE making the regional tournament? They beat out either St Henry or Lloyd? I don’t see that

Dr Phil says the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Last year, Dixie only beat Villa and Ludlow and those victories gave them the #3 seed instead of the #4. Villa and Ludlow were the numbers 4 and 5. Villa beat Ludlow To play st Henry while Dixie played Lloyd in the 2/3 game. Dixie beat Lloyd To guarantee a region birth.

This year I think that the seeding will be exactly the same, with Lloyd winning in the regular season against Dixie but losing to St Henry. I think that Dixie will beat Villa again to be the #3 seed. I do not see Villa beating Ludlow in the 4/5 game again, so Ludlow will play #1 St Henry and Dixie will play #2 Lloyd as the #3 seed. I think that Dixie will win this game, thus guaranteeing a regional birth.

Agree with all of this except I think that Lloyd will beat Dixie in Districts. When do they play each other in the regular season?

It's all good was just giving you a hard time because in your top 10 under Holy Cross you mentioned you would be surprised if they beat Campbell Co or Conner. Rankings are hard each week outside #1.

Nobody can ever say you don’t think things through. I a’int arguing with ya.

Well you did state you’d be surprised. Also, NCC didn’t beat Holy Cross.

You are right. Hard to keep track of everything sometimes.

Holy Cross beat NCC by 21 and lost to St. Henry by 20, it's crazy day in and day out. These kids are 16 and 17 year olds and have injuries throughout the year when teams play other teams during these times. Anyone can beat anyone with the exception of #1.

I always say basketball is a game of matchups. You can't always gauge how your team will do based on other games' outcomes (who beat who where and by how much).
