If Ashland shoots like that in the 16th region tournament or rest of the regular season, no one in the 16th will touch Ashland.

I feel like the title of this thread should read, Golden State Warriors 70 Russell 30.

That was an incredible shooting display from Ashland.

Russell's got to clean up their game if they hope to achieve a winning season. It's one thing for your opponent to have a torrid shooting night, it's another thing for your opponent to shoot like that while you can't even set up your own offense due to constant defensive harassment and turnovers.

Final.

Ashland's starters shot 16-29 on the three pointers. Subs shot 1-6 from the three. Running clock started at 5:09 remaining in 3rd quarter with the score Ashland leading 55-19.

I watched it on live stream. 3’s were raining down from everywhere! And Ashland played great defense.

This team is so balanced. Their freshman guard Colin Porter led them in scoring recently in a big game with 27. Tonight four players were in double figures but he only had 3 points, but....he had 10 assists!!!

This team is difficult to defend because they have so many different kids that can find ways to score. Opponents can’t key on any one player.

Great atmosphere tonight, James A. Anderson was standing room only. That's all I'm gonna say.

I watched the game as well as listened to it.

So did I. Ashland is a hard team to handle when they're hitting on all cylinders.

They have yet to lose a game and even though their RPI took a major hit from playing four out of state teams so far, they're still in the top three or so for that as well. These cats are good, regardless of how they looked against Trinity.

No time to relax as another rival, Boyd County, visits Anderson Gym tomorrow night.

I was at the Ashland/Trinity game and Ashland was not hitting on all cylinders in that game but they handled it well while staying focused and came away with the win.

Yeah, they beat Trinity at their own game in that one. Held Trinity to one of their lowest point totals of the season as well. Ashland's shooting ability gets most of the attention, but their defense is very good as well.

Yeah, I’ve seen a post or so in other threads saying their Trinity win didn’t impress them and they would have trouble in a lot of regions. The Trinity game was simply a bad off night. Very rare to see these young men miss that many open shots. But the Tomcats are for real. Anyone can go to KHSAA website and see their schedule results and it’s darn impressive against some quality opponents. Yes, they didn’t play well vs Trinity but still found a way to win. That’s the sign of a good team.

It would be nice if they had at least one big kid with mobility that could mesh with this roster which could be used if they’re able to make it back to Rupp, but they don’t. But for right now they’re doing just fine and rolling right along. Very enjoyable bunch of kids to watch play. Radio fellow Dickie Martin said, “I haven’t had this much fun in 40 years.”

I agree the defense for Ashland is good. Ashland should advance pretty far if they make to rupp. The only downfall for Ashland is they're not very big. But with the way they shoot they should go far.

Yeah their defense seems underappreciated, imo. Their defense will carry them in games where they don't shoot well, for the most part. If they're hitting their shots on top of that they're hard to beat.

One of the big things with this Ashland team that doesn't get mentioned very often is how young they are. Freshmen and sophomores essentially.
