Vikings 26 Saints 20 (OT)

Featured Replies

Saints are just a little bit snakebit.

Both three seeds lost in first round.

The Saints lost three of their final five home games this year. The San Francisco loss was acceptable, but ultimately that loss to the Falcons cost them the 2 seed, and then the Vikings put out the lights.

New York refuses to look at offensive pass interference. Which I don’t think it was nearly bad enough to overturn the touchdown. I don’t see myself why Sean Payton don’t come under more scrutiny about some of his late game decisions. Just my opinion.

I haven’t watched the Vikings much this year. However, I knew Cook is suppose to be a really good RB. However, at least in today’s game he seemed like he ran kind of weak. I don’t know if I seen a rb get stoned wall so much in a game before where RB is running full speed and the defensive player hits him and drops him right at that spot. It happened a lot today in the game, even though he finished with good yardage for the game still.

What late game decision did you not agree with today, is in past playoff games they lost?

Not a lot today I thought he didn’t manage the clock very well before halftime. Also I would’ve took the timeout and avoided the 10 second run off at the end of the game which would have gave you two maybe three shots at the endzone and win the game. Plus two years ago throwing on two downs with the Vikings out of timeouts allowed them to get the ball back with enough for their game ending touchdown. Also I think he just gets a pass from the press that other coaches don’t. Also with today’s loss he is now 8-8 in the post season. Just my opinion.

He could have, but at that point they were in field goal range. If you take the timeout you only have 21 seconds. That then puts into play if he gets sacked game is over. It also takes away the middle of the field. Allowing the Vikings to sit on sideline routes and shots in the end zone. Which puts into play game ending interceptions. Once you are in field goal range with only 21 seconds left and no timeouts. It is hard to truly try to take shots, especially where they were at. More things could go wrong than right there.

Brees snapping the ball before everyone was set, is what killed them.

As for the passing the ball twice a few years ago. It is what I always say, no one ever says a word if it works. When people pass the ball at the end of the game to get the game sealing first down, people praise it and say what a great call to do that. Then if it doesn’t work people complain well, you were an idiot by not just running it.

At the end of the game they have won many games at the end of games. They have won a Super Bowl with his decisions like the risky onside kick, which would have been labeled as being an idiot if they don’t get that. They have now lost playoff games on a Minnesota Miracle, a horrible non pass interference call, and now an OT lost. I don’t think he is getting a pass, because there just isn’t much there to complain about. If so it is just truly nitpicking and now really worth to complain about.

I think sometimes he lets his ego and cockiness dictates some of his decisions he has had probably one of the top 10 quarterbacks all time and is now 8-8 in the playoffs. Also he has a .620 winning percentage.

How about my Vikings!!! Glad for all of them, especially Kirk Cousins. It will be tough next week at San Francisco, but, I know they can pull it off.

He had an 8 and 6 playoff record before today. So he is now 8 and 7. With as we said two of those losses coming in the most dramatic ways possible. Like the Minnesota Miracle and the non pass interference call last year.

Not to mention unless you win the Super Bowl you are going to always have a lost added to your resume every year you are in the playoffs. Which usually you may only pick up one or two wins at most in a post season unless you win it all.

Which is why unless you are Bill Belichick, or Vince Lombardi. Most of the top coaches of all time and hall of fame coaches all are barely above 500 by a game or two in their career in the playoffs.

No not really there is several more: Bill Walsh 10-4, Joe Gibbs 17-7, Chuck Noll 16-8 just to name a few. Heck Norm Levy was 11-8 in the playoffs. Hey if Pete Carroll wins today he’ll improve to 11-8. Payton has 1 playoff win in the past 6 seasons.

I am betting he may not have been 100% after missing the last couple of weeks.

Had to listen on the radio, coming back from the in-laws. Was bummed the Saints didnt get the W.

So you used other All time great coaches who also won multiple super bowl titles lol. Which gets back to my point unless you are winning the super bowl. Your record in the post season is not going to be that much more above .500 and usually only a couple wins at most above it. It’s because unless you win it, you are always going to be adding a lost to your playoff resume, and you are usually not having more than one or two wins at most if you don’t win it.
