December 4, 200619 yr There isn't a playoff. Michigan lost a regular season game the same as Florida. Except UM was punished for falling to a better team in the end... Or not beating as many good ones...
December 4, 200619 yr Author With all the support for a college football playoff, I can't believe people would try to make the case that Michigan deserved to be in the National Championship game. In a playoff, you get one shot at a team. If you lose by 3 it doesn't matter, you're done. Why should Michigan get a do-over just because they lost a close game in Columbus? Punished not once, but twice. They were voted ahead of TWO teams after they lost the game by coaches, computers, and the like. In a playoff, your not penalized before the daggone thing even starts if you lose to the best team in the regular season. And surely, if you lose to a team by 14, does that not make you done also? Because UF sure did that......
December 4, 200619 yr Your fighting a losing battle here. It's a widely accepted fact that the SEC has the WORST OOC scheduling of any of the major conferences. That is simply what you are led to believe by the 'Anit-SEC'. Please prove it to me.
December 4, 200619 yr Author Or not beating as many good ones... This is out the window. Look it up. ESPN. UF had the #1 SOS, UM the #3. We've compared the wins, OOC, etc. and its near a dead heat, with a slight edge to UM in OOC and a slight edge to UF in overall conference play due to higher winning percentage. Your argument holds no water. Period.
December 4, 200619 yr Author That is simply what you are led to believe by the 'Anit-SEC'. Please prove it to me. We've discussed this time and time again. I think you'll find most SEC supporters will agree that the SEC is very weak when it comes to OOC scheduling, especially with their top teams.

December 4, 200619 yr We've discussed this time and time again. NOBODY has had it... you know why? Because it's not there.
December 4, 200619 yr Author I've asked for proof in many different thread. NOBODY has had it... you know why? Because it's not there. Because noone wants to do all the legwork of posting each teams OOC schedules on here. Just browse the SEC teams OOC schedules on ESPN for a minute. Almost every team plays a 1AA team. That in itself puts them on a lower pedestal since all Big 11 teams play at LEAST a D1 opponent. Now look at the D1 teams they play. Most are in the bottom fourth of D1 football. And Florida is the worst of them all. Take a look at Georgia: UAB(3-9) Western Kentucky(1AA) Colorado(2-10) Georgia Tech(9-4 and No. 16) ALL at home no less. Do you not look at that and see 3 guaruanteed wins?
December 4, 200619 yr And now a Big 11 team comparable to Georgia... at Bowling Green (4-8) Western Illinois (5-6) San Diego St (3-9) Buffalo (2-10) Do you not look at that and see 4 guaranteed wins?

December 4, 200619 yr Author And Ball St. isn't? Sure. I'll give you that, even though they did have a winning record this year. We also had Central Michigan, who won the MAC, and ND. What SEC team can claim 2 or more OOC opponents with winning records?

What SEC team can claim 2 or more OOC opponents with winning records? Well, I don't think we should be arguing which crappy teams our conference scheduled are better. Michigan scheduled Notre Dame out of conference, highly ranked preseason, I will give them that. On the other hand, FSU was not exactly a bottom dweller preseason either.

The sad part is, that is bad as the WORST OOC schedule in the Big 10 is, its only slightly worse than almost the entire SEC.
