Ashland 66 Johnson Central 56

Congratulations to Ashland Blazer, a good win in a tough gym to come away with a win.

Ashland outscored Johnson Central 24-8 in the 2nd quarter to go up by 14 at the half. JC won the 3rd quarter to get back in the game but Ashland won the last quarter 14-8 to pull out the win.

I missed part of Dickies comment about a jv game, so I'm not sure who Ashlands opponent was. But I am pretty sure he said the other team didn't score in the second half. Anyone else hear that, know who the opponent was? Lewis County maybe?

This Dickie fellow cracks me up with his broadcast. He’s good and he will bring a chuckle from you, lol.

He will, but he's honestly a really good person as well. I'm not sure if I've ever met anyone that has personally met him and didn't like him. Not to mention he's probably one of the best play by play guys in this state.

I'm sure Johnson Central was missing some Football players. That is just something to keep in mind.

As is Ashlands youth. They will get better as the season progresses. More so than in typical seasons, this Ashland team is young, like Kentucky young.

Very nice win for Tomcats. Anyone have the scoring breakdown.

Ashland should win the 16th again imo. I'd Like to see a rematch between Johnson Central and Ashland with all players available.

Maybe I’m confused but I’m thinking there was a Grant Rice playing last night from the radio broadcast. Maybe they have another player with that same last name and I’m getting them mixed up. Or maybe his name was mentioned as being absent due to football. But I remember the name because when I heard it I thought of Grantland Rice.

I'll always upvote a Grantland Rice reference.

Looks like Ashland got balanced offense last night, with five players scoring between 10 and 17 points. With so many shooters, it'll be a pick your poison type of season for Ashland opponents.
