Copycat recipes

Featured Replies

We're getting to that time of year again.. the time of year where I like to sit inside on the weekends trying new recipes and watching sports.

We have had threads about smoking, and crockpots. We had a single thread devoted to chili recipes.

I've recently gotten into trying different "copycat" recipes. Anyone have any that you like? I just found one for a Whopper that I'll likely give a shot this weekend.

McDonald's special sauce clone

1/2 cup mayo

2 Tblsp French dressing

4 tsp sweet pickle relish

1 Tblsp grated white onion

1 tsp white vinegar

1 tsp granulated sugar

1/4 tsp kosher salt

Raising Cane's Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise (real deal mayonnaise...no "light mayo" or Miracle Whip)

1/4 cup ketchup

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Or thousand island.

Or thousand island.

Similar, but not the same.

1000 island uses ketchup not french dressing.

Hardy's Biscuits

5 cups self rising flour

1 tsp baking soda

2 tsp sugar

1 cup vegetable oil

2 cups buttermilk

1 pkgdry yeast

1/4 cup warm water

-Dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar.

-Mix all other ingredients together and add to yeast mixture.

-Mix well in large bowl; cover and let set in refrigerator overnight.

-Remove required amount from refrigerator and pat or roll out on floured surface.

-Cut out with a biscuit cutter (or a round glass dipped in flour) and place on greased baking pan.

-Bake at 425 degrees until golden brown (depends on your oven, start with 10-12 minutes).

Note: this dough will keep in the refrigerator for 7-10 days.

I thought this thread was about Chinese cooking.

I don't eat cat under any circumstances, but thanks for the offer of recipes.

Why? It's very lean.

Whopper recipe was clearly not a Whopper from the King himself, but it was good!

I did a copycat of Spicy Garlic Sauce from BW-3's this weekend, which was pretty good I'll post the recipe later.
