Surprised you're considering that road game for UC in Tampa in 3 weeks a cupcake. I have no worries about the UC defense against anyone but the offense struggled against Tulsa yesterday. Definitely benefited from the short fields the defense gave them.

Also gave people more time to get to their seats, doing it at the first timeout.

Everybody here knows that. However, I try to be objective and they are not good on either side of the line. Their 3 wins are over South Carolina State, UConn, and BYU. (That's why that BYU win over Boise State is so devastating to Boise State.) They are having heck of a time learning Kerwin Bells offense. Blake Barnett is gone, season-ending ankle surgery, and his replacement, Jordan McCloud is playing hurt. McCloud's backup, Kirk Rygol, is a walk-on. They've got a decent running game, but no passing game to speak of. In yesterday's 35-3 loss to Navy, McCloud was 11-23 for 50 yards, with an interception. He got sacked 4 times. Rygol, playing against Navy's 2s, got 64 yards. Jordan Cronkrite had only 74 yards on 17 carries to lead the ground game. It's not pretty. South Florida is ranked 66th in total defense, but 116th against the run. Warren II and Doaks should have a ball. I don't know what Charlie Strong is up to, and I am willing to support him through the rebuild (if that is what he is calling it), but he's pretty much destroyed what Willie Taggart built. Then again, I have no idea what Willie Taggart would have done here without Quinton Flowers. The existing evidence shows he would have done about the same as Strong. Having said all that, I've ordered my Dixie Chilli for the tailgate.
October 20, 20196 yr I was actually surprised he came back at all, I guess he wanted to,stand out, wore an all blue suite. There was a mix of boos and applause when they mentioned his name. I never heard the attendance, but I thought there was more empty seats than I was expecting.

Then again, I have no idea what Willie Taggart would have done here without Quinton Flowers. The existing evidence shows he would have done about the same as Strong. You won’t find a better example of “falling up” in major college sports than Willie Taggart. He has had limited success in general, and the success he had was mostly with one exceptional player. If someone is needing to fluff their resumé, give Willie a call.

Many adults come pouring in halfway through the first quarter. I only notice because "the gate" is rather slow of UC football games but then certainly picks up.
October 23, 20196 yr Always a late arriving crowd at UC football games. I made the same comment Saturday,UC football is,like the dodgers in baseball, late crowd, we arrived around 2:30 and the place was empty, we are upstairs and it was busy as usual early.
