Exactly. Also, their second best receiver(Colwick) still has a cast on and isn’t getting the touches he would normally get. That kid is scary good. Don’t get me wrong, Boyle County has a great group of receivers but Smith and Colwick is good as it gets.

I think I speak for all of Class 3A, thank you Boyle County for being in a different class than us. There's a lot of football left and 3A has several teams that have a shot and that wouldn't be the case if Boyle was still around.

 

To me, they are the funnest team in the state to watch from what I've been able to see. I'd stack that offense up against anyone in the Commonwealth.

Boyle County is #3 in the state in ALL classes, IMO.

I think Beau Allen has progressed very well since last season. I’ve watched all the LC games on Prepspin this year but in person I was very impressed. His accuracy has improved and he made good decisions with the ball. He didn’t have the turnovers we saw in the past against Boyle. With that said the Boyle secondary performed very well minus a couple of plays and made some great plays on the ball. The defenses were the difference in this game. Boyle has one and no disrespect to LC but they don’t. When your coaches and fans are applauding giving up 8-10 yards on first down, you have a problem on defense. I hope Catholic wins their next 2 district games and we are able to meet again in the playoffs. It just feels right when things play out that way!

 

On another note Reese Smith should be the front runner for Mr. Football at this point. However I’m afraid his out of state commitment will hurt his chances. If it does that is a shame because the award should go to the best player in the state, not the best in-state player committed to Kentucky.
