Though Lexington Christian Academy did not see their ranking improve, their perception as a legitimate State Title contender certainly improved with their shocking shootout victory over 4A Lexington Catholic. The Eagles will try to continue to strengthen their resume against a ranked Williamsburg squad. Somerset knows Williamsburg well after knocking them off this past week, the Briarjumpers will keep it in Class 1A for another week, but Russellville should be a very winnable game. A pair of undefeated teams will risk their pursuit of perfection as Breathitt County will go on the road to upstart Middlesboro, and surprising Todd County Central will search for a shocking upset hosting Owensboro Catholic.

Not to be silly but there are probably not ten teams better in 2A.

 

With six classes in Kentucky there are going to be some mediocre teams in the bottom half of the rankings.

I’m looking forward to seeing what happens between Newport and Newport Catholic this Friday. Newport is off to a great start beating each team they have played so far, which they have been expected to. I believe that this Friday gives further insight about the Wildcats and potentially how the rest of their season may go.

I agree! I’m not saying the past opponents are bad but those are games that should have been won. NCC will be the first test for Newport.

Quite certain the folks in Ft Mitchell will be very interested in this one to get a solid gauge on the Wildcats! I Think NCC will win, but if the Wildcats do win this one they have to be considered a legitimate threat to win that district!

Agree, and will also be watching. Happy for Newport and kudos for the record, but haven’t played anyone. This week should paint a very good picture of how that district should plays out.

I agree! Lloyd has played a much tougher schedule and has put up some good numbers. Should be interesting match ups when they all play each other.
