Ryle 20 Cooper 16

Great win for the Raiders! Lived up to the hype of a Defensive slugfest.

I said we would learn a lot about NKY 6a tonight and judging by the scores of the other teams I would imagine Raiders have moved up.

Cooper’s defense was solid again tonight with 2 interceptions. They were just on the field way too long. The last 5 minutes was a head scratcher. Huge opportunity to score after a Cooper safety. QB/WR didn’t touch the ball until the last 4 seconds. Great game!

I saw a clips of both Lee and Warth passing tonight. Did Lee spend any time at QB for Cooper tonight?

Lee started out at QB, it is the right call moving him out of that position.

Congrats to Ryle on the win.

Observations: Kudos to Cooper for outplaying Ryle in the second half. Ryle had control of the game at 20-7 at the break and did not score after intermission. Straight ahead or one quick cut to the short side of the field and Kyle England had 5-6 fantastic runs that probably averaged 25 yards per carry to make the difference. Every time Ryle tried to run wide, Cooper did a great job of stuffing the plays. A lot of negative yardage plays for both teams. Ryle’s kicking game is really bad. Lots of bad passes by both teams. Without Lee, Cooper’s offense is anemic. Lee is a great high school player. Both teams play really hard with defenses better than offenses. Nice night and atmosphere for prep football. Good luck to Cooper throughout the season.

Ryle’s play calling was very predictable. England is a horse and had a great game, but they certainly need to mix it up a lot more. Had an opportunity to put that game away but chose to run basically the same play almost the entire 2nd half.

Ryle’s defense did a great job neutralizing Lee. He had his moments, but was kept in check for most of the game. It seemed both Cusicks had his number.

As mentioned, Ryle’s kicking game was dreadful. 2 missed PAT’s and an ugly attempt at a short FG.

Congrats to Ryle on the win.

I don’t know for sure but I’m wondering if our Kicker/Punter is hurt. He was limping around after half and the second half his play went downhill.

I forgot about the botched punt after the safety. Overall a game to forget!

Not the best game by either team. I love a good defensive battle for sure. Cooper's defense is for real. Hard to tell about Ryle's due to how poor Cooper's offense was. 3 games in and Cooper is still trying to find its way. They need to find a way to get first downs, ball control and grind it. Move the chains. I believe the majority of touchdowns by Cooper this season have come on big plays.

England is a work horse. I enjoyed watching him move the ball.

Not a top year, as of yet, for either team. There is time to straighten this out, but it needs to happen soon.
