Is It Just Me...

Surely we don't need to ruin another thread with this same conversation that we've had a hundred times on here...

Just pointing out hypocrisy my man. I don't understand why it's wrong to point it out. If you think GM could call him something like that and keep his job, you're crazy.

The hypocrisy isn't black and white that I'm talking about it's from management to a player. Players can cuss coaches, trainers, GM's and owners and it always works out for them. A coach, GM, owner says something about a player like that and they are gone, no questions asked.

I disagree that a GM can't cuss out a player and keep his job. I don't believe that's true at all.

By cussing I meant saying the same type of things AB allegedly said, no GM would survive that...nor should they.

Office would already be cleaned out. I can’t believe AB went there.

Well, it’s not the same. And everyone knows why.

False.

Riley Cooper got an extension after he was filmed saying it.

Kerry Collins called Mushin Muhammad one back in 1997. Played 15 more years.

Bill Romanowski has an entire Sports Illustrated piece dedicated to him.

All that being said AB shouldn’t have said what he said or acted in that manner but we gotta quit acting like there is a double standard in every situation when there truly isn’t. The only double standard is black people can say it for the most part with no issue.

So you believe in the 100 year history of the NFL not one single GM, owner, Coach, front office employee, etc hasn’t said the n word in front of other people and not a thing happened?

That’s the hill you want to die on?

Never said that, I'm saying that if this GM had said that to AB in a locker room full of players he'd be gone today ...as he should be.

Maybe we’ll find out one day. The team makes a huge difference. I feel like Jerry Jones can say it in the locker room on Sunday before the game and not a thing would happen to him.

Just another example of how black and white people see things differently because of perspective.

Coaches and management should be held to a higher standard but there isn’t a circumstance, player or coach, where racial slurs are acceptable. That’s just my .2 cents.

I'm looking at it as players (Cooper, Collins, others) get away with it, regardless of color. Management not so much. Donald Sterling was forced to sell his team. If Jerry said it and players revolted, NFL would either force him to sell or remove him completely from the team in some way.

If you haven’t figured out that the NFL is different then I am not sure what else to say.

Again, our perspectives are different. In my opinion Jerry Jones has said enough to be removed from his team.

Maybe he has, I don't know. I've not seen any backlash from players, media or online. If there was it was minimal, that said we live in a different world now than just a few years ago. If Jerry called a player a derogatory name today, he'd be gone or heavily censured by the NFL. A player could call him anything and it wouldn't matter...unless they suck as a player.

Again, perspective. Things go deeper than derogatory names in my world.
