Excellent choices one and all (well, Bloodsport is a stretch, even taking the avatar into account). The three that popped into my head first were Jaws, Saving Private Ryan and 2001.

Great choices. Though I expected at least one movie from your youth...The Great Train Robbery, The Jazz Singer or maybe a Charlie Chaplin Joint.
