We have 11 boys that play on offense, and 11 boys that play on defense.

Does a Coach Barnard still help at OC?

Did you know that Coach Bill Yoast is a graduate of Mercer University class of 1949

The number factor is about that you have 950 kids that go to your school. OC has 400. We have a lot that dress but only about 17 play. The advantage is that MC probably has more talent to chose from. But in my mind, we have beaten 4A schools before, BAD! Not this year because we are young and played them at the beginning of the season. I think it is about coaching. Coach Edge is very good on breaking down game film and putting the right personnel at the right place. This actually his 6th semi-state game as a coach. (2 with Owensboro and 4 with OC in 8 years) NOT BAD for a 30 year old.

 

And 64 on OC varsity roster, we have 68 on ours... Besides the numbers game - I do agree with you it is about coaching too. We have been fortunate with the talented, experienced coaches we have at Mercer. Good luck OC, be careful travelling here. See you on Friday.:thumb:

For the OC faithful, it's a haul but we're pretty easy to find.

 

1) W Ky Parkway to I-65

2) North on I-65 about 2 miles to the BG Parkway.

3) East on the BG to exit 59A (127 South) towards H'burg.

4) About 15 miles on 127, then right at the second light (Moberly Rd.)

5) MCHS is on your left about 1/2 mile up the Rd.

 

It is best to go the 2nd stop sign and turn left the field and parking are on the backside of the school.

Thanks for the good riddance. For the record, we did beat Harrodsburg back in 96 as an underdog when they had Dennis Johnson and Company. The only touchdown came from Coach Edge's brother Robert for a 96 yarder. On the film, you can hear the coaches for Harrodsburg stating that he was the fastest white boy they have ever seen.
