Also has to pay state income taxes if your state has it, just like the rest of us. Manny Machado can claim residency in his house in Florida and have no state taxes. Just the days he plays there. Cali will still get some, true.

Is he getting the same amount in those two years? If so, then I agree with your 10 year figure. However, if he gets a bump during the two years he would've already been under the old contract, then you'd have to look at the full 12 year term.

Yeah technically it’s a 10/360 extension. Hasn’t been marketed that way for whatever reason. They back loaded his first deal, so those two years left equal 33 mill the next two years before the 10/360 extension. I guess they look at it as “total commitment?”

For what I could find it was a 10 year extension and the remaining two years on the current deal were unchanged.
March 22, 20197 yr Simple. It's my opinion no one is worth that much money. I understand what you are saying. That is a TON of money but if the athletes don't get the money then the owners just get to pocket it. To me with the amount of money in sports, athletes don't get enough. The owners are already billionaires. I think the players, who are the actual reason the sport is watched, should get a majority of the money. I think Trout is more than 2% of the reason fans watch the Angles.
