Steelers 38 Saints 31

Yes, Ed has one, and I doubt that Troy will go long w/o one. You take Ed, I'll take Troy. IMO, Ed is somewhat a product of his personnel, whereas the Steelers defensive success is a product of Troy and his ability. Therein lies the difference for me!

That might fly with me if the Ravens weren't so bad without him last year. He's just as important to that D as Troy is to the Stealers. Just because you hate his team is no reason to over hype yours... :p

Oh, make no mistake, I hate his team, but I am not overhyping my own. Ed is more important to his D than Ray (see yesterday) but the Steelers also don't give up 500+ with Troy. No winner in this argument. Especially with an "unbiased" Bengirl fan.

Troy has to be better then Ed becuase he picked off a pass and then run over the Greatest QB in history for a TD.:dancingpa :dancingpa

Thought I'd throw this in for good measure. For those who crow that we let all of those guys leave home after basically raising them and not wanting to pay them. Here are Randle El's stats:

games-9

rec.-18

yds.-167

TD-1

punt returns

avg.-12.4

TD-1 (87yd)

fumbles-1

So, the 7yr/$31mil contract is silly at best. I know he'll never see 31mil, but that's just ridiculous. Would he have made a huge difference in special teams? No doubt! Would he have helped the passing game? Somewhat perhaps. Would that have been prohibitive for the Steelers to improve???? No doubt!!!

Reed, Rodney Harrison, and Roy Williams are all better strong safeties. Being 4th best (especially when those 3 are ahead of you and you are so young) is nothing to laugh about. Troy is legit. His weakness is coverage, but he's versatile enough to play LB in the 3-4. Donavan Darius and Michael Lewis can also hold their own. Calling any of these guys Ronnie Lott like (except Reed) is a reach.

What about Steve Atwater, or are we just talking about player that are playing now.

I still say the Steelers are dead men walking.

If they are the Bengals are because I believe they end the season with same W/L records!!

I feel they both are done.

Sporting news pre-season addition has Troy the best strong saftey in football and it was voted on by offensive cordinators. Tony Dungy said leading up to the Pitt-Indy game in the playoffs that he is the best saftey he has seen since Ronnie Lott. I take these guys word over anyone on here.
