Steelers 38 Saints 31

Both are great, but Troy is a special player. Many have said he is the best to come around since that Lott guy...

That's crazy talk. He is very effective in the blitz and very effective agains thte run. He is not special against the pass.

Now, that is crazy talk. His closing speed makes him one of a kind. He picks balls that others would be lucky to defend at all, ask Peyton,et.al.

When he is in coverage is very good, they just seem to blitz him more.

Isn't that the job of a strong safety? That's okay, IAF thinks the Steelers run a 4-3 also!!:sssh:

I defended someone that called him, "The most overrated player in football" this weekend. If his "closing speed" was that good he'd be a corner.

Not true, and if you watched the Atl game, you did see him close on and catch Vick when he left the pocket didn't you?

Some of it. I've watched Troy in college and in the NFL and he's very good. He's not the best safety in the league or the division.

An open field tackle?

Not that Troy isn't a real good safety because he is. Ronnie Lott though he's not.

I disagree and many would IMO. He changed how many teams view the SS position. Not that Ed Reed doesn't. But Ed Reed may defend the pass as well or even better, but doesn't do the other things as well, IMHO

How many times has Troy been NFL Defensive POY again??? :D

Yes, Ed has one, and I doubt that Troy will go long w/o one. You take Ed, I'll take Troy. IMO, Ed is somewhat a product of his personnel, whereas the Steelers defensive success is a product of Troy and his ability. Therein lies the difference for me!
