I will agree, the only thing better would be chili dogs and cold beer !!!

The Meade County to Ryle and Trinity to Male scenario is an oxymoron of epic proportions. Saving travel ? HAHA !

Wait until next year when teams are galloping across the state to fill district AND non district schedules.

KHSAA = BRILLIANT !!! :ylsuper:

Ryle is enjoying this year's format.

I will bet they are, as are many others in the state. Good luck this year and may the best teams advance!:thumb:

We played Meade county about mid-season and they were minus a starter at FB and LB. They still played a very tough game and from the looks of it have gotten better as the year progressed. They are tough (as always) against the run. We all know what a road trip does to a teenager's state of mind at game time so that would be the big question. Will they step off the bus ready ? Or not ?

Common opponents: Boone County - Meade beat them by two TD's at home, Ryle lost on the road.

Meade has played very, very well for nearly two months. They gift-wrapped the first JH game, but other than that they have played very good football. Flying in under the radar is exactly the way they will like it, and they will be loose playing on the road.

Come on stay up on that info. Meade Co. beat Boone Co. by 3 points!!! Farris had just gotten into the mix for Boone, and eventually there QB started to be one of the better ones in the District.

Common opponents mean nothing, it's all about how the two teams playing match up.

We'll be waiting in you Union for you all Friday.....enjoy the ride, because you'll be entering the Raiders House once you get here...

Honestly it's about time a 4A school outside of the Ville had a chance.

Not going to happen. The best 2 teams are going to play each other before the final.:sssh:

Alright Ryle fans..tell me about your team and I'll tell you about mine.

The Waves run a lot of motion, trapping and misdirection in the running game. They also have a power back name Nick Stinnett who gets the call in short yardage. Ned Brown and Alex Furneval provide the speed. Meade is a primary run first, shoot second type of team. Jr QB JL Cannady has a good arm and is very accurate, but IMO, his skill set is not called upon enough as the Waves run over 65% of the time.

On defense, the Waves are not very big, but the will hit you square in the mouth. They play assignment football and execute very well on the defensive side of the ball.

Speedy skill players on the outside do tend to give Meade problems as the Waves do not have superior speed in the secondary.

Special teams tend to be an adventure for us. Good Punter, and a very iffy place kicker.

After a lot of injuries mid season, the Waves are healthy, and young. only 7 seniors on this team. Many of us in Brandenburg feel next season will truly be a year for us, this year is just gravy to get to the 3rd round.

I will bet they are, as are many others in the state. Good luck this year and may the best teams advance!:thumb:

The best team always dose.

I think Ryle will continue to take care of business and advance again. Ryle will win by 13.

Really? I think you missed my point in regards to IAmAFan's comment that they are enjoying the playoff format this season. This format does allow a team like Ryle to play Meade this week instead of Trinity. This is NO knock on Meade County but I am sure that Ryle is much happier to play Meade County. Their prospects of advancing are much greater.

I don't think anyone will be surprised if the 4A state championship game is similar to the Scott Co. vs. St.X game from 2 years back.

I will have to go with Ryle in this game as well. Raiders win 28-13.

Meade fans view this the same way. We'd much rather play Ryle (any N KY team) than have Male, X or Manual as we have in the past.

Sometimes change is ...."refreshing". Makes you realize how things can be different and not always good or bad, just "different".

Still must say it was lame excuse for the change, saving travel in early rounds. The travel now will more than offset any travel saved in round 1 & 2.

OK Raiders, it's time to knock these down-staters off their horse. I'm tired of hearing about the "weak N KY teams". Show them what it's like to get hit by a train!!!!! When Meade's buses come rolling in, tell the drivers to keep the engines runnin'. Sorry, just getting a little chippie about N KY.

Funny, I don't recall using "weak" in my quote. Maybe some reading comprehension classes would help you.......

I will tell you that we "down-staters" view Northern Kentucky teams on our level, which is a level below the big 3 in Jefferson County. Sorry you may feel slighted, but the facts are just that, facts.

Now, you could tell me the merits of the Ryle Raiders, or we can start a peeing contest.

Thanks for that link. They are a common opponent between Meade and Ryle, but I'm not sure how relavent that is now.
