Is time winding down for Frank Martin's time as South Carolina head coach? He's had 4 winning seasons since taking over before the 2012/13 season. Two 17-16 seasons, 14-18, 25-9, 26-11 and he currently stands at 4-7 this season. 117-97 since he's been at South Carolina. Has only been ranked twice, 2015/16 was ranked 19th (highest) and 20016/17 was ranked 16th (highest), the 2016/17 season he also took the Gamecocks to the final four, which was his only NCAA tournament appearance at South Carolina.

 

So again, is time winding down for Frank Martin in Columbia?

Maybe, but I could see them giving him another year or so. SC isn't driven by basketball, so that should help.

 

FWIW from what I've seen of him he's a great leader of young men.

When he was at Kansas State, he made the NCAA tournament every year except for 1 (2008/9). He's not really done much since he's been at South Carolina. I would think the Big 12 would be a tougher conference than the SEC but the SEC isn't a bad conference and is better now than what it use to be.

Dude he took them to the Final Four 2 years ago. He can be there as long as he desires.

I think because South Carolina isn’t a “basketball school” he is pretty secure because of his success 2 years ago. But he has to continue to have winning seasons. Also what is his record against Clemson since he’s been at SC?

Is it a football school? They haven’t beat UK in football in a half decade or so.

South Carolina isn’t a “basketball school” or a “football school”. I’m not sure what you’d call it but they’re not a traditional power in either of those sports.

He's not the same Coach he was when he was at Kansas State. He's done more at Kansas State which is in a tougher conference than the SEC than he has at South Carolina.
