I'd be really interested to see if there is any precedent for other contractors exploiting minority set-aside contracts like Evans has. I feel like there HAS to be someone else who's been caught doing it. Like, it's no secret that people are people who organize companies in their wife's name in order to be able to be a WBE and be eligible for women-owned business - and the wives have virtually nothing to do with the company except holding a title, just like Evans' minority "partner" for his Ergon company.

21 Months....I was pretty close. People do more time for lessor crimes. He has been heard saying "this is what I get for trying to help someone out" lol! Yeah it's not always do you loan money and start a minority based company to help someone out. That's why several hundred pieces of equipment have One name on them....."Evans Landscaping".

 

Like CWB said above, a lot of companies do something like this along the line. It's how he methodically created the name and back door'd the wrong people is why he was caught. There are many more people out there smarter than you Mr. Evans. Now if you ask him, he would tell you differently. Lol!
