Beechwood 49 Frankfort 8

Beechies take care of business and move on..Castleman with a big night..

Beechwood's Logan Castleman was big in this one. He probably rushed for 250 yards or more. The first offensive play of the game Castleman went 65 yards for a score. Then he finished it off in the fourth quarter with a 62 yard touchdown run. In between he had three other touchdown runs. The Beechwood coaches put together a great game plan. They ran offensive sets that I don't think I have ever seen Beechwood run. They went straight at Frankfort running the ball.

Tyler Donoho also was a big factor on offense, breaking several tackles and scoring on a 31 yard touchdown reception. Donoho also played well at linebacker on defense.

Give credit to Frankfort and their coaches. They played hard the entire game. Despite being down 35-8 at halftime they made adjustments to what Beechwood was running. They held their own with the Tigers in the third quarter before Beechwood finally was able to add another score with one minute to go in the quarter. Frankfort's quarterback John Tillman is a heck of an athlete. He threw a couple very nice balls that would have been touchdowns if the receivers had not dropped them. He was very difficult to tackle in the backfield extending plays and avoiding sacks. Running back Dajuan Davis ran hard and receiver Jevon Bush made some nice plays.

Beechwood's line play was just too much. The Tigers controlled the line of scrimmage and Frankfort could not stop them even when they loaded the box.

Congratulations to the Tigers on moving on to another state semifinal. Congratulations also to Frankfort on a good season, fighting hard till the end of the game and earning regional runner-up.

Beechwood is a fine tuned machine. They have it all going. It is going to take a great effort by a deep, talented team to beat them.

Beechwood offensively is at the best they have been all year. Cam Hergott looked so good throwing wide receivers open and throwing before they made their cut. He has struggled holding onto the ball to long most of the year but is progressing nicely. Logan Castleman looked like the stud he is. The only concern from me is when Frankfort opened up their offense and went to a 5 wide out look they started moving the ball very well. I think Coach Rash will address that this week and figure out better ways to limit spread offenses. All in all another great win for the Tigers and looking forward to the matchup against Campbellsville.

Congrats to Beechwood on the win. This week will be a blowout too. It has to be tough to sit through the majority of the Beechie schedule with as many noncompetitive games as they play.

I agree that is why I haven't gone to many games in recent years.

Beechwood is really really good...not much more to say about them.

Beechwood is a phenomenal football program that has been in good hands for decades.

I agree...they have it locked down in 1A for the foreseeable future.

2A next year.

Go Tigers!

Great job Beechwood and Coach Rash.

I didn't know they were moving back up...maybe they'll be challenged then.

They are moving up to 2A for the first time.

However, this thread is about Beechwood's victory over Frankfort and everything else is for another thread.

Probably almost as difficult as watching Covington Catholic put running clocks on everyone. :sssh:

In reality, these games are usually more entertaining than the final score might indicate. Frankfort has some very good players and they were many times just one missed tackle or one dropped pass away from making a big play.
