November 11, 20187 yr Author Northwestern is playing in the B1G Championship with Purdue’s horrible loss to Minnesota and Wisconsin’s loss to Penn State. The West looked really bad today with exception to Northwestern winning.
November 11, 20187 yr 6-4 Northwestern is Exhibit #1 as to why there should never be automatic qualifiers into the football playoffs. They are one fluke win over either Michigan or Ohio St from winning the B1G, even if they were to lose the next two games and end up 6-6.

Northwestern wouldn’t be selected in the playoff if they win the rest of their games, including the conference championship game.

I agree and they shouldn't be...but there are many on here and on TV that want the Conf. Champs to get an automatic bid if the playoffs expand to 6 or 8 teams. No way a 4 loss conference champ deserves to be in the playoffs.

Kentucky managed to beat two directional teams - Eastern Kentucky and Eastern Michigan - by a combined 15 points last year. And last year ain’t this year. A few weeks ago there were people talking about how good Wisconsin - who had already lost to BYU - was. Because they were good last year. Theres not not a team in the division that deserves to be ranked in the top twenty.
