Who wins and why?

I posted this thread because Ian Book has a rib injury and has been ruled out of this game. ND should be just fine against a bad FSU team, but it’s definitely an interesting development.

The more interesting scenario is if Book is out against Syracuse next week in Yankee Stadium. That game gets real interesting without Book.

Norte Dame wins because they are good and FSU is historically bad (for them).

I do hope FSU rolls Blackman out there. I feel bad for Francois but I think he has not adjusted properly post-injury and worse than that, I think mentally he’s messed up. They need to be gearing up to try to find some way to beat BC and a Florida.

Could set up to be a disaster for ND. They win on paper and unfortunately the kids know this too. Take out the starting QB and a nothing to lose game for Florida State and who knows what Coach T and the FSU squad throws at you.

ND needs to put them away early and be sure the kids are focused on this opponent and not a good Syracuse team on a bigger stage than usual.

Notre Dame 31-20.

N.D. says Book should be available for Cuse, but I'm with you could make for an interesting couple weeks for the Irish.

Even if he is available for Cuse, when does he go back to practice? Would he be playing this week if it was Cuse and not FSU (this sounds weird)? Definitely something for all of college football to keep an eye on.

Notre Dame by eleventy-billion.

ND should be just fine, but I think ND fans would tell you themselves they are a little concerned at how the offense will look without Book.

Wimbush can't pass the ball. Now he can run the ball well, which as long as they could utilize that they should be fine. However definitely makes this game a little more interesting than it needs to be. Notre Dame with Wimbush starting to begin this season, didn't score more than 24 points in a game. That included two of those three games being against Ball State and Vandy. So chances are they aren't going to score much with him.

Ian Book leads the country in completion percentage at 74%. While Wimbush had a 55% completion percentage. So that is a huge drop off in the passing game. Notre Dame has a good defense, so as long as the offense and special teams doesn't help out Florida State. They should be fine, but it is worrisome because they have no passing game with Wimbush.

They say he has still split the reps with Wimbush in practice this week. My guess is if this was Syracuse this week, he would have tried to give it a go. However since it's not, I think they believe they can sneak out a win in this one and give him an extra week to heal before next week.

Vandy gained over 400 yards against the Irish, turned the ball over 3 times to none for Notre Dame and still were within a very late dropped pass of possibly beating them. If FSU has a pretty good passing attack, they have a shot to win, and if not, I doubt it.

I’m assuming FSU is going to roll Blackmon out there again this week. Despite the bad loss to NC State last week, Blackmon had a great game going for 400+ yards and 4TDs.

The line is currently at ND -16.5. I’d take FSU.
