I normally vote. I know nothing about anybody running for anything and I've been turned off so bad by the commercials and people hanging stuff on my door that I am not voting today. Why vote when you don't know anything about the candidates?

I always vote, but only for the candidates I have educated myself on and feel comfortable voting on. I may only cast 6 or 7 votes on an entire ballot. For our City Council, for example, I only voted for 3 people out of a possible 12 I could have voted for.

I struggled with this today. A couple of the judge races I was not sure on the candidates and who they were. I really struggled on whether to not cast a vote or to cast the vote simply for the name I recognized the most.

 

I chose the latter but really don't feel that is the right thing to do. I should have known more and didn't but in a judge race, I am not even sure what to look for to distinguished between the candidates.

If this is the case then I'd have to agree with you. I just love this time of year and I can't wait to vote and I love watching the returns.

I voted for 5 dems, a record for me. And I don't vote for people who are running unopposed.

I voted, there wasn't anyone in line at all when I arrived at my polling place.

I think that is a pretty good argument. I mean if you don't know anything about the person you vote for then what is the point in voting. If you vote just to vote then I think you are hurting a persons chances that actually could win the race which is what maybe you want to do in the first place so I dont know. I guess you could skip the race you don't know about though. Cant you ?

I actually voted for a few Dems today, and 1 Libertarian candidate. We had new electronic voting machines this time that you could "elect" to use instead of the older machines. However, if you vote for a write-in candidate with a long name, and the ballot is lengthy, you can forget trying to complete your selections in the 2 minute KRS allotted time frame. Still, it was an enjoyable experience.:thumb:
