November 4, 200619 yr Obviously they would want people in power in America who would leave them alone to spread terrorism... http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=52747
November 4, 200619 yr Yeah because that is the democrats plan. Leave everyone alone and spread terrorism. C'mon, get serious.
November 4, 200619 yr What a joke... Does that mean if I vote Democrat then I'm aligning myself with the terrorists? Or if a Democrat wins, the terrorists have won also? Hardly...
November 4, 200619 yr Looks like no one has bothered to read the article.:jump: I sure did. I read this one on Jihad Jaara too... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/2045431.stm :sssh:
November 4, 200619 yr I sure did. I read this one on Jihad Jaara too... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/2045431.stm :sssh: So, do you have some reason to believe that Jihad Jaara and Rami Kamel are telling the truth? As far as I can tell, there is nothing in the article that indicates that the BBC did any sort of fact checking with regard to the pair's claims. Did you expect that two people giving an "exclusive interview" by the left leaning BBC would simply confess to Israel's charges agrainst them? What does this article have to do with the topic at hand? Do you think terrorist leaders would select Democratic candidates who support withdrawing from Iraq over Republican candidates who support having our troops in Iraq? Do you think that they favor Democrats who criticized Israel response to the attacks on its citizens by Hamaas and Hezbollah terrorists or Republicans, who generally supprted Israel in the conflicts? This seems like no-brainer to me. I cannot imagine that any self respecting terrorist leader is pulling for Republicans to keep control of the House and Senate on Tuesday. In fact, I predict celebrating in the Arab streets if Democrats win control of both houses on Tuesday.
November 4, 200619 yr The big questions is why do terrorists want Democrats to win the election.. The article contends they feel it is a chance to get troops and whatever out of muslim countries... 1) Would that solve anything? 2) I can just forsee world peace after America leaves the middle east They want Democrats to win to further divide the nation. Seems logical to me. Our politicians are a lot more concerned about badmouthing each other on television and securing their own personal/party interests instead of tackling issues. It is probably comic relief more than anything for the terrorists... they realize more Democrats in power further hampers the US; not because they are Democrats, but because they know whatever course of action is presented, the other party (Republican or Democrat) will want the complete opposite. The same scenario would take place if Republicans were trying to take control of congress and the Presidency was held by a Democrat.

The first post of this thread contains the following quote: "Of course Americans should vote Democrat," from Jihad Jaara. That article is being held up to us as if it were gospel, and we should somehow allow it to influence us to vote for Republican candidates, lest the entire world fall into the hands of the Axis of Evil. The fact that it appears on a blatantly conservative site is not even mentioned. Here we are, six posts later, and we have a conservative decrying the very same person (Jihad Jaara) as being unworthy of belief when his words do not support the Republican goals, and the vehicle carrying the story is "left leaning", in an attempt to attack the messenger, and discredit the story. Surreal, to say the least. Frances

Surreal, to say the least. Frances Surreal - great word, but it would be better applied to Democrats' refusal to acknowledge that the Middle East policies that Nancy Pelosi. John Murtha, and John Kerry, and their ilk advocate are exactly what the Islamo-Fascists claim that they are fighting for - the US out of the Middle East. If Hamas, al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Ansar al-Islam, and all the other Isamic terrorist organizations operating in the Middle East thought that endorsing Republicans would get Democrats elected, that would be their message. I doubt that many Americans, including left wing Democrats, are so naive to believe that terrorists would actually prefer having President Bush and his party in charge instead of Kerry, Murtha, and company. Terrorists may be crazy, often suicidal, religious zealots, but they are not so stupid as to not recognize whose policies would butter their bread. Like it or not, a Democratic takeover of both the House and Senate would be cause for great celebration in Arab streets, caves, and spider holes. If you find an article that says otherwise, regardless of the publication, please post a link here. FWIW, I don't put any more stock in what I read in WND than I do the NYT or hear on the BBC. All have their political agendas and anything they produce should be taken with a grain of salt. All I need to determine which party is favored by Islamo-fascists is the application of a little logic.

Like it or not, a Democratic takeover of both the House and Senate would be cause for great celebration in Arab streets, caves, and spider holes.
Once again, the use of a broad brush belies the position. Not all Arabs are anti-US. Certainly the terrorists are, but it is not a small distinction to make. As for celebrations, I don't know about the streets of the Arabic countries, but if there is a Democratic takeover of both houses occures (which I don't believe it will), there will certainly be a majority of Americans celebrating. Personally, I do care about how the people in our country receive the news. FWIW, I don't put any more stock in what I read in WND than I do the NYT or hear on the BBC.
Which is it? Do you really want a link to an article, or will you simply take it with a grain of salt? Either the opinions expressed by others are worth listening to, or they are not. If not, then let's just operate in a vacuum, devoid of dissenting opinion. Oh wait - that's what the current administration is doing. All I need to determine which party is favored by Islamo-fascists is the application of a little logic. In light of the fact that I don't want to be suspended, I will refrain from responding to this statement that just begs to be eviscerated. Frances

November 4, 200619 yr I am interested in reading whether you believe that Islamic terrorist leaders support Democrats or Republicans in the upcoming elections. Care to share? Sure, I'll share. I don't care which party the leaders of Islamic terrorism support in the upcoming elections. I know that regardless of which party is in power, we will have to find a way to extricate ourselves from this disaster of a war that is solely Bush's making. Nixon used the phrase "Peace, with Honor" in his '72 campaign for the Presidency. I think in about 18 months, we are going to see some variation of that theme used by the nominees from both parties. I also know that what was once a relatively small group of people that were filled with hatred, and consumed by infighting within their own ranks is now a thriving movement being fueled by the stupidity, incompetence, and arrogance of the current administration. I have to say that of all the people in this administration, I do have tremendous respect for one. Rove is in a league of his own. Hey! This sharing is pretty fun!! If you'd like me to share some more, just ask me how I feel about Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld! Your pen pal, Frances

Frances Why can't you "eviscerate" his point without getting suspended. You're dodging his point because you know he is correct. Everyone knows who these guys would rather have in power. The Dems are conveniently dodging this issue. Edit: OK I saw your answer. "I don't care which party the leaders of Islamic terrorism support in the upcoming elections." Exactly what I expected. And one of the reasons I cringe at the thought of Dems getting control of our government.
November 4, 200619 yr Didn't the country have this same argument in the 60's when it was Communism instead of Terrorism?
