Not sure if this number is correct, but radio guys had Somerset with close to 300 yards rushing in the 2nd half. They had less than 40 yards rushing in the 1st half.

This game was scoreless at half time. Somerset had backed LCA up.at their own 1 after a great punt and were looking to get after them deep in their own territory. LCA breaks a long run across midfield and drives a total of 84 yards on the drive, only to be stopped at the 15 where they missed a FG.

 

Both teams struggled completing passes down the field tonight with the exception being Somerset's first TD that was a 50 yd or so deep ball down the sideline.

 

LCA defense seemed a little sluggish after half time and runs in the first half that went for no gain suddenly were getting 4 or 5 yards a pop.

 

A couple of late TD's from short fields made the score look more lopsided than the game looked in person.

Those runs you speak of may have something to do with the fact that Somersets backfield is a load to handle consistently. This is two weeks in a row they’ve imposed their will in the run game late in ball games on people. Maybe they’ve found some identity. With grundy back on the other side of Miller, Bruner and Austin coupled with good o line play in the ground game I can see them getting some traction for a nice playoff run. Miller goes 205 with great speed and vision and bruner just eats the heart of a defense late in ball games. Having spoken to Jases father the injury he suffered late doesn’t appear to be season ending.

They just need to commit to the run from the outset and trust it. The times that they've struggled this year have been times that they've gotten away from the run. This team is best served playing a ground and pound style and using the passing game to compliment the run, not the other way around.

 

That's great news on Bruner. They can't afford to lose him. Luckily I don't think they'll have to have hun for the next couple of games if he needs to heal up.

Great news on Bruner, I didn't think it was too bad. We were sitting right behind the bench and he was laughing and cutting up with teammates after he went out.

 

Run game definitely had a cumulative effect on the game. Early on they struggled to run much, but they stuck with it and really ran hard once LCA started to tire a bit. In the first half it seemed they kept trying to get to the edge and LCA had enough speed to contain that. Inside runs or just off tackle, really changed the game.
