October 2, 20188 yr How many current top 25 teams would UCF beat on a neutral field if they played this week?
October 2, 20188 yr Author I don’t know how a thread about ND got turned into a conversation about UCF. But imo the only top current top 25 team UCF would beat is Colorado. Now let’s hear how I’m wrong.
October 2, 20188 yr Author So we're bashing you because we're pointing out clear inaccuracies in your "criteria?" In regards to UCF, you clearly posted what you thought they had to do to be considered for this years playoff discussion. You never mentioned having to have multiple two-loss conference champions, and you never mentioned specific teams having to have multiple losses, until today. Those are facts. How could anybody make the leap of assuming you mean all that when you never mentioned it, again, until today? And then you have the nerve to call us ridiculous and irrational? If your criteria has changed, fine. Just say that. But to act like we are making something up, or to try to convince is that you said something when you quite clearly didn't is pretty incredible. Figured I’d move this to a UCF thread. There are no inaccuracies with my criteria. I didnt have to mention the stuff that was inferred in the scenario where UCF would be considered in the post from last year because it was posted in the context that there were multiple two loss champs and UCF was undefeated. You keep saying they’re diametrically opposed scenarios when they say the same thing one is just broken down and one is posted in another thread without context. So yeah it’s completely rational to infer my criteria from the post last year. The only thing that is different is an elaboration of what a big win is.

I think you need to read the thread and where that post was made. You are either badly misremembering what you said, or trying your hardest to make people believe you said one thing when you said another. For people to make the leap you claim any rational person would make (nobody besides you inferred it), we would simply have to be putting words in your mouth.
October 2, 20188 yr As to this thread... I'm comfortable saying Bama, UGA, OSU, and LSU would 100% without a doubt beat UCF, and probably rather comfortably. Outside of that group, I wouldn't be surprised if UCF beat any of the rest of the teams in the Top 25. I haven't seen a whole lot of UCF this year, tbh.

So you’re telling me that it isnt inferred that in a thread about whether UCF should be in over Ohio State and Alabama, that the carnage that occurred last year wouldn’t be a necessity to even have a conversation about UCF? Yeah I’m not buying your defense man... the only reason that thread was started was because we had multiple 2 loss champs and a great 1 loss team with a bad resume. To not include that context if you are going to use it against me this year is reckless. Seriously are you not inferring that a) UCF would have to be undefeated and b) have multiple 2 loss champs to be considered? Those are a given to even use the words UCF and playoff in the same sentence.

The team ranked directly behind UCF would wax them by at least 3 TDs. The 25th team beat like a drum who I think is clearly the best non p5 school.

October 2, 20188 yr The team ranked directly behind UCF would wax them by at least 3 TDs. Maybe so. Like I said, it wouldn't surprise me to see UCF beat any team in the Top 25 outside of that top group. It also wouldn't surprise me if UCF lost to any team in the Top 25.

October 2, 20188 yr UCF would beat over half of them. They would have no problem beating UK. UCF will never get anybody's best shot. Which is unfortunate, I happen to think they are a very good team. Most Power 5 teams would not prepare the right way and give UCF the attention needed to beat them. It's not UCF's fault; it's just the way it is. With that being said, assuming both teams were on their A games; I would say they would beat about 6 or 7 of the teams in the top 25.
October 2, 20188 yr These questions come up on an annual basis. Don't try to look at it through the prism of "Can UCF best X, Y, and Z team?" Ask yourself where you believe UCF would rank if they were in a Power Five conference? An individual game they can beat almost anyone, but for a season you are fooling yourself if you believe they lose less than four games. They do not have the depth. That would put them in the back third to back quarter of the top 25, which is probably about right.
