Could kids in that area be attracted to Cov Cath / Beechwood success? Dixie and Cov Cath were neck and neck not too long ago, but now parents see a better education and a chance to see state championships. Plus Cov Cath has a really nice facility. Just a theory.

Not a theory...FACT. From CCH’s perspective I can tell you that I know several kids who 6-7 years ago would have ended up af Dixie, but now want to play for Eddie.

Most people consider Dixie's athletic complex to be one of the best in the area, so I don't see facilities being an issue. If you are Catholic, you are probably going to go to Covington Catholic so I don't see much decision making there. I have never thought of Dixie and CCH competing for players. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't see that as the reason Dixie is so down. We probably need to take this to its own thread instead of this game thread if we are going to discuss it further.

What is Dixie’s offense like? I want to say those years not too long ago when Dixie was pretty successful they ran a read option with the QB running a lot? Similar to Simon Kenton this year. Is that still their MO?

It happens more often than you think.

My last comment in this thread on this topic. I am sure there are many CCH students that live in Dixie's district, but that doesn't mean they considered going to Dixie over CCH.

Who are Dixie’s leading players?

Who are Dixie’s leading players?

Dixie's QB, Jeremy Adams, is the leading rusher. He has twice the rushing yards that their top RB, CJ Bensman, has. Channing Williams and Dylan Sears are the top receivers.

Bensman is also the leading tackler at middle linebacker, followed by linebacker Yang Shi and cornerback AJ Dilts.

Why the Thursday night game? Doesn't look like boys or girls soccer teams will be using the field on Friday.

Fall break.

Gotcha. Kind of weird since Dixie's girls soccer team has a game on Friday...but I guess it's just whatever the two teams agree to.

Also, playing the game a day earlier gives an extra day of prep for CCH next week. Not saying that's why it's happening, but it's a benefit looking forward.

SK and Dixie soccer had to get clearance from the KHSAA to play on Friday night.

Why?

There are 23 football games scheduled throughout the state on Thursday night.
