His career may be over. However there is still millions of dollars why he would still want to keep trying. Injuries will keep him from the huge pay day that fits his talent. But will still probably get at least 5 million a year plus very incentive base. That's still a lot of money to walk away from.

Not only bad luck with the INT but bad luck that there was no PI called when Kroft was grabbed.

First Bengal hit Ryan in the head. Then Lawson tackled Ryan around the neck. There actually were two roughing the passer penalties on that play.
